Overwatch 2's Summer Games return July 14 alongside a patch that buffs Reaper and trims Sigma
Patch 4.32 brings back Lucioball and Winston's Beach Volleyball through July 30, and it reworks more than a dozen heroes on the way in.

July 15, 2026Overwatch 2's Summer Games went live again today, July 14, arriving with patch 4.32 (build 1.000.096 on console). The seasonal event runs through July 30 and drops you back into the arcade's beach modes. If you play ranked, though, the more interesting half of the download is the stack of hero changes that shipped alongside it.
What the event actually is
The beach rotation is the same trio Blizzard has leaned on lately:
- Lucioball, the soccer-with-Lucios mode, is back, plus Lucioball Remix, which throws extra balls into the arena including triple-point ones.
- Winston's Beach Volleyball, the 3v3 mode where summer-skinned heroes bounce a giant volleyball over a net and race to ten points.
- Junkrat's Loot Hunt returns July 31 to August 3 as a reward-focused weekend.
On rewards, the event feeds the Excavation Initiative, the Loot Box system Blizzard brought back this season. You earn Base, Epic, and Legendary boxes by logging in, winning games, and clearing challenges, and the Summer Games challenges push the same track. Blizzard's stated terms: progress does not reset, there is no daily cap, and the boxes come from playing rather than from a checkout screen. Worth knowing what you are grinding before you grind it.
The balance patch is the real story
For competitive players, the hero tuning matters more than the volleyball. The headline moves:
Tank
- Junker Queen: Commanding Shout cooldown drops from 12s to 10s in 5v5 (15s to 13s in 6v6).
- Ramattra: Ravenous Vortex explosion damage doubles from 15 to 30, and Nemesis Form's Block cooldown is halved to 0.5s.
- Sigma takes the hit. Barrier health goes from 275 to 250, and his Hyper Regeneration perk converts less damage, down from 40% to 30%.
- Doomfist gets reined in, with a smaller collateral hitbox on Empowered Rocket Punch.
- Mauga's single chaingun now loses accuracy over sustained fire.
Damage
- Reaper should feel stickier in a brawl. Soul Globe pickup radius goes from 5m to 8m and lifesteal from 25% to 30%.
- Freja and Venture pick up quality-of-life buffs, while Cassidy's Silver Bullet perk gets a smaller projectile that is harder to land.
Support
- Ana's Biotic Grenade heals and damages for more, 75 up to 90.
- Brigitte's Inspire now gives 12 healing the instant it activates, with less healing over time after.
- Lucio's Sonic Amplifier does 22 per pellet, up from 20.
Stadium got its own long list on top of that, including a Clash capture-speed change and item tuning. The Three Tap Tommygun took a genuine nerf, picking up a 0.5s internal cooldown and lower damage.
One caveat
This is a live-service event running against a mid-season patch, so read the numbers as today's build. Blizzard tends to hotfix the outliers within a week or two if something lands badly, and the full notes are worth checking before you commit to a new main.
