They did it at the Garden. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce got married Friday, July 3, at Madison Square Garden in New York, according to CBS News, which means the biggest pop star alive tied the knot in the same building she has sold out more times than most acts play in a whole career. Cute. On brand. Very expensive.

The officiant is the part nobody had on their card. Adam Sandler ran the ceremony. CBS News reported that a representative for Swift described Sandler as a "friend" of the couple, and Variety confirmed the comedian handled the honors. Per TMZ, Sandler did not just read the vows and sit down. He sang an original song he wrote for the two of them. Sandler and Kelce reportedly got friendly filming "Happy Gilmore 2," which is either a fun bit of trivia or the most Adam Sandler sentence ever committed to print.

Who stood up, and who sat down

No bridesmaids, no groomsmen. Swift's brother Austin served as her "Man of Honor" and Jason Kelce, Travis's brother, was best man, per reporting rounded up by Yahoo Entertainment. TMZ adds that Jason's kids handled flower duty, which tracks, because if you have that many photogenic children on hand you put them to work.

The guest list did numbers

Reports put the crowd around 1,000. ESPN ran a whole piece on the celebrities who showed up dressed to compete, name-checking the likes of Baker Mayfield and Ed Sheeran. Yahoo's roundup added Bradley Cooper, Hugh Grant, and Machine Gun Kelly to the spotted list. CNN, covering the night live, described a star-packed MSG party running late into the evening. For a couple that spent two years being the most photographed people on Earth, keeping this one guest-list-only was probably the closest thing to privacy money can buy.

What she wore, allegedly by way of Paris

Here is where I put my hands up and say "per reports." According to the guest-list coverage aggregated by Yahoo, Swift's dress came from Christian Dior Haute Couture, designed by Jonathan Anderson, with custom Christian Louboutin shoes and Cartier jewelry finishing the look. Kelce, per the same reporting, also went custom Louboutin. I did not get a look at the receipts on the jewelry, so take the carat count with a grain of salt until someone posts a clearer photo.

The short version

Two people who have been the internet's main character since the fall of 2023 got married in the middle of Manhattan, on a holiday weekend, with a Sandler-scored ceremony and a four-figure guest list. Nobody is going to call it understated. Nobody was trying to.
