Camila Cabello Once Mistook a Ronaldo Tribute for Booing. The World Cup Just Dug the Clip Back Up.
A 2024 Lisbon crowd-work misfire is back at the top of everyone's feed, courtesy of Ronaldo's brace against Uzbekistan.

June 26, 2026Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice on Wednesday as Portugal put five past Uzbekistan, and somewhere in the celebration the internet did what it always does. It went digging. The thing it dug up is a Camila Cabello concert clip from 2024, the one where she tries to hype a Portuguese crowd, gets hit with a wall of "Siuuu," and concludes that she is being booed at her own show.
She was not being booed. That is the whole joke, and it is back with a vengeance.
What actually happened
Back in the summer of 2024, Cabello was playing a festival in Lisbon, fresh off Portugal doing well at the Euros. She decided to read the room by cheering for the national hero. Per Hola, she told the crowd, "Congratulations, Portugal! Let's go, Cristiano Ronaldo."
The crowd responded the only way a Portuguese crowd responds to the name Cristiano Ronaldo: with his trademark "Siuuu," the long drawn-out roar he does after he scores. To anyone who watches soccer, it is a tribute. To Cabello, apparently, it sounded like several thousand people turning on her at once.
Her reaction, as quoted by RealityTea: "Ok, guys, don't boo me 'cause she told me that would win you guys over. You know what? Boo that bitch." Reader, they were not booing.

Why it is everywhere again
The clip never fully died, but it found new life this week. A fan account reposted it on June 25 as Ronaldo's World Cup run kicked back into gear, and according to RealityTea the repost pulled in millions of views almost immediately. The timing is the entire engine here. Ronaldo's two goals against Uzbekistan, in a 5-0 result, sent the "Siuu" back to the top of everyone's feed, and the Cabello bit rode along with it.
The replies are doing the heavy lifting on the dunking. One user, quoted by RealityTea, wrote, "You love Ronaldo, but you don't know suii.. next lie please." Another went with, "Girl didn't know she started a prayer circle for Ronaldo." A third summed up the consensus: "You can tell she doesn't watch Soccer by reacting to all the supposed 'boos.'"
A few things worth keeping straight
This is old footage. It is not a new gaffe, a new feud, or a new anything. It is a two-year-old crowd-work misfire that the World Cup put back in circulation, which is its own small lesson in how the internet works during a tournament. Nothing is ever really gone. It is just waiting for Ronaldo to score.
Cabello, 29, has not said a word about the clip making the rounds again, per RealityTea. Probably the correct move. There is no winning an argument with a stadium that thinks you insulted Cristiano Ronaldo, and there is definitely no winning it eighteen months later.
The kindest read is that she heard a noise she did not recognize and guessed wrong under pressure, which is a very human thing to do in front of a crowd. The funniest read is the one everyone is going with. Both can be true.
